The Barreta of Gualda

Located to the north of the municipality next to the port and next to the neighbouring beach of the Mascarat. The beautiful beach, not very crowded and made out of gravel, is called that way because of the reef it stands on.

This place is a protected space under the name of Sierra Helada Park. It is focused on nautical sports, where we can find diving, paddle surfing, sailing, jet skis, kayaking, snorkelling, boat trips, etc.

It is not a crowded beach, as all the beaches in the municipality, are fairly compensated in terms of the amount of tourism they receive.

Del Mascarat Beach

Next to the "Barreta", this beach has a rocky area and a nudist cove. From there you can see the tip of the Mascarat mountain, that's why the name. The gravel turns it into a not overcrowded beach where you can enjoy beautiful views with great tranquility.

Cap Blanch Beach

Located between Albir Beach and the Nautical Club. It is fully equipped with all services and is made up of areas of fine gravel and rocks.  With more than 1 km, it is the ideal beach to enjoy a day at the beach with the family.

It offers countless restaurants and beach bars in the area, with lifeguard and, of course, with blue flag. It is very close to the center of the municipality where you can find hotels, shops, restaurants, etc...

Cap Negret Beach

This beach offers a beautiful landscape with the Sierra de Bérnia as a background and runs from the river Algar to the Cala del Soio. Formed mainly by gravel, it is not one of the busiest.

Its clear waters and fine gravel have nothing to envy to the rest of beaches in the area.

There are numerous hotel services in the area, as well as bars and restaurants for all visitors. In addition, you should know it holds certain specific services like boat renting and aquatic scooters.

Galera-Solsida Beach

Nudist beach where you can enjoy an extremely natural environment.  Just next to the mountain and El Puerto del Mar, it is formed out of a mixture of rocks and gravel.

We highly recommend this beach to disconnect and really get to rest with absolute tranquility.  Very shallow waters and ideal to enjoy diving a nearby island that surrounds it.

La Roda Beach

Formed by gravel and rock, it is awarded with the appreciated blue flag that populates the coast of Alicante.

With calmed and crystalline waters, it borders the Cap Negret beach.  This beach is adapted for people with reduced mobility and is also ideal for visiting with children. It is a safe beach that never gets too crowded by tourists.

Beach of L'Espigó

Not too long ago, this beach was opened to tourists. Extending along the coast with about three hundred meters where they added a promenade that communicates with the Algar river.

As it is protected by 2 external breakwaters, the waters of this place are always calm even in bad weather, which makes it a fantastic beach for children and families.

The location is excellent since it is located in the heart of the town, which gives it the advantage of being next to the promenade full of the services we talked about before.

Dog Friendly Beaches

Altea has reserved places for pets, both beaches and hotels and campsites.  Since 2016 there is a beach for pet bathing on the beach of La Olla.

The use is not exclusive to owners but is open to everyone so they established some basic rules for the coexistence of all in this place.
