Restaurants in Alfás del Pi
As in many parts of the Mediterranean coast, rice is one of the key products of Alfaz del Pi's cuisine. It is prepared in various ways and with different ingredients: Rice broth, with chicken, with rabbit, with fish or with beans, which was a very typical food in the past among the people who worked in the agriculture of the municipality.
This great tradition has been maintained over time and can now be seen reflected in the food and different ways of preparing the dishes of the restaurants in Alfás de Pi, which populate the town. There are some modern restaurants that have innovated with traditional products and then there are others that have remained faithful and continue to prepare the meals as it was done in the past.
Another magnificent recipe is the "Puchero con Pelotas" which is usually eaten at Christmas and around that time. Like this one, there are many spoon dishes that are very present in Alfas del Pí's kitchen.
We must not forget the famous "Cocas", a kind of wheat flour dough that is used as bread, to fill it or put different ingredients on it.
Among the sweetest desserts, we have the pumpkin fritters and the mona. Two homemade products that can be found in any pastry shop in the city and in some restaurants.
