RESTAURANTS IN SANTA POLA - GASTRONOMY


The cuisine of this place stands out for 2 main ingredients: Rice and Fish.  With a great variety of fish that, daily, arrive at the port of Santa Pola and anyone can buy in the auction, which are added to the rice to make different exquisite dishes.

Pez de Santa Pola (fish with denomination of origin)
It is a sign to identify the real fish of Santa Pola, landed every day in the Lonja de pescadores of the city.  All the product obtained in this place, guarantees a maximum quality. The taste is incredibly tasty and has characteristics that allow it to be prepared in many different ways.


CHARACTERISTIC SPECIES

The most representative species landed in the Port of Santa Pola are: red mullet, whiting, blue whiting, forkbeard, red shrimp, white shrimp, shrimp, Norway lobster, octopus, squid, cuttlefish, potassium, crab, galley, sardine, anchovy, conger eel, southern bonito, sea bream, swordfish, mackerel, horse mackerel, milt, permit, gilthead and monkfish, among many others.

BROTH OF CALDERO PEIX DE SANTA POLA
This is a tasty broth with a lot of knowledge based on the best fish and seafood from Santa Pola. A true delicacy for all palates.

It is a contest prepared by the Town Hall in collaboration with the restaurants of the town, to promote the Santa Pola Fish.
